Turning messy problems into collaborative solutions.

Good Policy

Work, health, housing, education, childcare, income supports — access to these basics can get tangled up in rules, processes, and jurisdictions that frustrate families and the agencies that serve them.

We help public and nonprofit organizations bridge silos, engage stakeholders, and use data and evidence to deliver their mission in the real world. We create tools and processes that help you adapt to changing policies, budgets, and needs.

Founder

Mary Ellen Wiggins has over 20 years experience shaping policy and managing programs by building bridges across organizations. She began her career developing and delivering community-based education and vocational services for youth in the U.S. and in Central America. Across communities, she saw firsthand how fragmented policies and programs hold families back.

In 2008, she joined the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB). For over a decade, Mary Ellen worked with both Republican and Democratic administrations to design and launch policy initiatives that promote stronger outcomes and shared learning across sectors and levels of government. She then served as the Director of Policy & Research at the Forum for Youth Investment before founding Good Policy.

Mary Ellen grew up in Decatur, Georgia, and lives in Washington, D.C. with her family.
